Betty Jane McLaughlin

Betty J. McLaughlin, 81, of Emerson, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson the Rev. Randy Rasmussen officiating. A visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Emerson on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Betty was born on April 11, 1929, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Fritz and Mary Ann (Frye) Wohlert. She married Delmonte McLaughlin on January 19, 1957 in South Sioux City, NE. The couple lived in South Sioux City until 1975 when they moved to Emerson. Betty had worked as a clerk at St. Vincent's Hospital or several years, also at Covington Links Golf Course. Betty is survived by her children: Nancy McLaughlin of Lawton, IA; Cindy Engelson of Sioux City, IA, and Doug (Gail) McLaughlin of Hubbard, NE, grandchildren: Beau Lucart of Sioux City, IA; Justin Lucart of Lawton, IA; Keeley Engelson of Sioux City; Nichole Cooks of Omaha, NE; Brooke McLaughlin of Omaha; Zach McLaughlin of Hubbard, NE, and two great grandchildren: Emily and Payton Cooks. She is also survived by sisters Dorothy (Babe) Bressler of Mayer, AZ, and Bobbi Johnson of South Sioux City, NE. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Tyler Engelson.
