Don L. Frederickson, 76, of Pender, Nebraska died on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services for Don will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Glen Schacht officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery at a later date. Don was born on April 12, 1934 in Pender, Nebraska, the son of "Emery and Leona (Ruehl) Frederickson. He attended rural school District 10 and graduated from Pender High School in 1952. After graduation he worked for some farmers in the area. In 1956, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina for two years. On April 5, 1956, he married Janet Munderloh at Elk Point, South Dakota. After returning home Don farmed for 30 years. In 1986, they moved into Pender and worked in the area. Don had a passion for John Deere Machinery, and also enjoyed camping. His family was an important part of his life, which he liked to spend time with. He was a member of the Bancroft American Legion. Don is survived by his wife Janet, four children: Vickie and husband Cliff Heise of Bancroft, David and wife Karen Frederickson of Pender, Terry and wife Lori Frederickson of Ankeny, Iowa and Mark Frederickson of Bancroft, Nebraska. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Patty and husband Duane Evans of Beatrice, Nebraska, Jean Ott of Lincoln, Judy Oakley of Lincoln and Jane Bauers of Wayne, Nebraska. Don was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
