Edna Stolze, 94, of Emerson, Nebraska died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Edna will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.
Edna was born on March 28, 1916 in Hubbard, Nebraska the daughter of Paul and Dorthea (Koster) Haase. Edna was one of six children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and was a lifetime member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. Edna was united in marriage to William Stolze on June 12, 1935 at St. Paul’s Lutheran. To this union three children were born: Wilma, Russell and Donald. William died on May 3, 1991.
Edna loved life, her flower garden and handwork. Her hobbies included knitting, quilting and crocheting, but she also loved to bake, her specialty being raisin bread. She was a woman of many talents, and loved keeping up with what her grandchildren did.
She is survived by her children: Wilma and husband Milton Pallas of Emerson, Russell and wife Elda Stolze of Emerson and Donald Stolze of Thurston. Edna is also survived by a sister Esther McMahon of Covina, California, ten grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, daughter-in-law Lauretta Stolze and two brothers and two sisters.
