A visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church in Walthill. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur. Donald, known as "Pook" by his friends and family, was born on February 7, 1949 to Dorothy and Marvin Nottleman at the Susan LaFlesche Picotte Hospital in Walthill, Nebraska. He was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill. Upon graduating from Walthill High School with the class of 1967, he worked at Iowa Beef Processors in Dakota City, Nebraska. While attending Walthill High School he met Rosemary Cochran. The couple married in the summer of 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill. To this union was born a son, Clayton Nottleman of New York, NY, and a daughter, Cary Castle, of Fremont, Nebraska. The family lived on a farm east of Walthill where Donald farmed with his dad for many years. Donald later ran a Flea Market north of Macy, Nebraska where he had his home. He also operated a Pawn Shop in Decatur, where many stories were told over and over. At10:00 a.m. he had to have an ice tea break with the village workers at French's bar. You could always find him outside of the Pawn Shop sitting and talking with friends. On Weekends in the summer, his home north was a gathering place for auctions, trail riding, hunting, camping and roasting hot dogs over an open fire with friends. Donald leaves to mourn his passing his mother, two children, three grandchildren (Crystal Castle, Natalia Castle-Gosch and Bobbie Don Castle-Gosch, all of Decatur), uncles, aunts and many cousins and a special friend, Charlie Short of Sioux City, Iowa, and many many friends. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Marvin on August 19, 1996. Memorials are suggested to the families discretion.
