Louise Nelson, 90, of Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away on
Wednesday, April 27, at the Wakefield Health Care Center.
Private family services for Louise will be held on Saturday. Public visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.
Louise was born on the family farm Southeast of Wakefield on January 11, 1921, the daughter of Fred and Emilie (Penke) Johnson. She attended school at District 19 country school. After school she worked in Omaha and later in California as at Nanny and house keeper. She returned home to help her family on the farm during WW II. On May 11, 1947, Louise was married to Clarence A. Nelson at a ceremony in Wayne, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Wakefield, where Louise worked for the Wakefield Rexall Drug for 28 years until her retirement in 1986. After her retirement, Louise and Clarence traveled. Clarence died in 2001. Louise enjoyed working in her yard and loved her flowers. She was also a longtime member of the Wakefield VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two daughters: Diane Larson of Wakefield and Faye Park of Pacific, Missouri. Louise is also survived by four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Evelyn Johnson of Wakefield, and many nieces and nephews.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, a sister Irene Schulz, brother Floyd Johnson and a grandson Eric Park.
