Rev. Janet Marie, Harder, 69, of Emerson, Nebraska went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Casa De Paz in Sioux City, Iowa on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Glad Tidings Light House in South Sioux City, Nebraska with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Janet was born on June 15, 1941 in Wakefield, Nebraska, to Earl and Elsie (Lutjen) Engelhart. She grew up in rural Winnebago and attended Country School. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1958. Janet married Lawrence "Tommy" Harder on June 28th, 1959. She was employed by the M. G. Waldbaum Company where she worked for 20 years. She later became an Ordained Minister and loved sharing the Bible with everyone she knew and loved. She got to minister in various nursing homes. She was know by some people as Mama Moses because of her love for the Bible. She even got the privilege of marrying two of her granddaughters. She was also involved in singing at Glad Tidings every Sunday for several Years. Janet volunteered at Heritage of Emerson with the Sing-a-long every month until 2005. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her cockatiel named Regal. She enjoyed spending every morning reading her Bible at the kitchen table with Regal next to her. She was a very kind and big hearted person and touched the lives of everyone who knew and loved her. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother , great grandmother and friend. Janet will be greatly missed and cherished forever. Janet is survived by her three sons, Lonnie Harder and his wife Mai of Wakefield, NE, Ryan Harder of Sioux City, Iowa, and Darryn Harder and his wife Phyllis of Wakefield, NE. She is also survived by one brother, Marvin Engelhart of Vermillion, SD, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tommy of 50 years and her brother, Leroy.
