Marcella Kaser, 77, of Pender, Nebraska died on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at her home near Pender. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Pender; Pastor Steve Tjarks will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Marcella Rose Kaser was born at home in Stanton, Nebraska on February 12, 1934, the daughter of Fred and Lucile (Heinold) Paulsen. Marcella was baptized on March 18, 1934 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. She attended elementary school at Salem, Missouri and at St. John’s Parochial Lutheran School in Stanton, where she also attended high school. Marcella married Albert Kaser on May 3, 1953, and lived her entire life on the farm west of Pender. The celebrated their 58th anniversary on May 3. Marcella was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday and Bible School; she was also an active member of the Ladies Aid. She worked at Pender Community Hospital for over 20 years. Marcella is survived by her husband Albert, four children: daughter Carol and husband Paul Peters of Wisner, Nebraska; daughter Karen and husband Wayne Ivers of Longmont, Colorado; son Kenneth and wife Karen Kaser of Missouri City, Texas and a son Kevin and wife Audrey Kaser of Pender, Nebraska. She is also survived by four granddaughters (Tiffany Carlstrom, Jill Anderson, Cassandra Harral and Lauren Kaser), six great grandchildren and three brothers: Don Paulsen of Norfolk, Nebraska, Virgil Paulsen of Omaha, Nebraska and Irvin Paulsen of Norfolk, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lucile, a sister Lucile Salmons and her two brothers: Mervin and Louis Paulsen. Marcella loved being with her family and was noted for her great cooking.
