Arnold C. Steinmeyer, 78, of Rosalie, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Logan Valley Manor in Lyons, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 3, at 3:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie with the Rev. Neal Mather officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Arnold Carl Otto Steinmeyer was born on October 3, 1932 on a farm northeast of Wisner to Carl and Hattie (Luetke) Steinmeyer. He was baptized on October 23, 1932, and confirmed on March 30, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Arnold served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He married Annie L. Ahlers on May 21, 1955, and from this marriage three children were born: Allen, Lori and Kent. The couple farmed in rural Wisner for a couple years, and then moved to the rural Rosalie area where they farmed until retirement. He served on the Church Council for many years, and was very active in the Immanuel Church congregation. Arnold also served on the Bi-Centennial Old Settlers Committee, and also helped Kent and Allen in their businesses. His biggest passion was sitting in front of his garage watching the world go by. Arnold is survived by son Allen and his wife Kay of Lyons, Ne and Kent and his wife Lyn of Bancroft, NE, special daughter-in-law Vicki Hankins, grandchildren: Trevor Steinmeyer and his wife Heidi, Andrew Steinmeyer and his wife Beth, Shelly Walker and her husband Joe, Julie Burhoop and her husband Landon, Seth Steinmeyer, Teagan Steinmeyer, and four great grandchildren: Jaylon, Riley and Paisley Steinmeyer and Triniti Burhoop. He is also survived by a sister Helen Lierman and her husband Arlen of Beemer and brother Robert Steinmeyer and his wife Cathy of Wisner, NE. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Annie, daughter Lori Kay Hankins, son-in-law Dennis Hankins, sisters Esther, Beatta, Mildred, Inez and Mable.
