Judith H. Hingst, 67, of Concord, Nebraska died at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa on Monday, July 25, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
Judith was born on October 1, 1943 at Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Alvia and Hazel (Stark) Gatzemeyer. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1961. Judith was baptized and confirmed on July 15, 1962. She was united in marriage to Lelan Hingst on July 28, 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. To this union four sons were born: Rick, Chad, Troy and Cory. Judith enjoyed raising her family on the farm, and her work as a dietary cook for many care centers including Emerson and Wayne. She enjoyed cooking and baking, finding the perfect recipe, gardening and flowers, listening to music and playing cards. She also enjoyed going to the boat with her sisters. Most of all Judith enjoyed her children and grandchildren, and the time she spent visiting with her friends and family.
Judith is survived by her husband of 49 years Lelan, her sons: Rick and wife Michelle of Bloomfield, Nebraska, and their children: Alexandria Hogan, Dilan and Nathaniel Hingst; Chad and Marisa of Allen, Nebraska, and their children: Tisean Schulz, Ashlee and Bentley Hingst; Troy and wife Page of Bloomfield, Nebraska and their children: Zachary, Damian and Devin Hingst; and Cory and his wife Staci of Norfolk, Nebraska, and their children: Aurora and Mariah Hingst. Judith is also survived by her great grandson Dominick Ortiz, sisters Dorothy and Rollan Hingst of Wakefield and Phyllis Todd of South Sioux City, Nebraska, as well as her brother Donny and wife Karen Gatzemeyer of South Sioux City, Nebraska. Judith is also survived by her in-laws: Her mother–in-law Marie, brothers and sisters-in-law: Verlan and Vicky, Marlan and Judy, Dennis and Ida, Carolyn and Dean, Rollan and Dorothy, Rita and Jim Bodwell and Dave and Diane Jensen, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and neighbors.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray Gatzemeyer, a sister Carol Ruskowsky, and brothers-in-law: Jerry Ruskowsky and Jim
Todd, along with father-in-law Harlan Hingst.
