Eva June Wegner, 74, of Bancroft, Nebraska died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, Nebraska. Memorial services for June will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church near Bancroft; Pastor David List will be officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Eva June Wegner was born on July 18, 1937 to Marshall and Doris (Gravert) Block east of Bancroft on their family farm. She was baptized on August 22, 1937 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. She went to Paine School until the 8th grade. She was confirmed in Christ on April 30, 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Bancroft High School on May 12, 1954. She worked in Fremont for one year following graduation. On June 26, 1955 she married Lester Wegner at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. They lived Southwest of Bancroft where they farmed until moving into Bancroft in May 2006. They were blessed with 3 sons, Doak, Tim and Scott. Throughout their marriage she enjoyed playing golf, bowling, bridge club, playing cards with her family and cooking. She loved watching her grandchildren and most recently her great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Lester Wegner of Bancroft. First born son Doak (Patty) Wegner of Bancroft and their son Matt Wegner (wife Angie & children Braylon, Jaxson & Riley Jo), daughter Becca Weborg (husband Tyler & children Nevaeh & Adara), daughter Jessie and son Josh. Second born son, Tim Wegner (Jolie) of Huntington Beach, CA and their sons Mike & Chris. Third born son Scott Wegner (Kathy Lea) of Bennington, NE and children Cassandra Zink (husband Larry) and Ben Wegner. One sister, Wenda Joyce Nichols (Tom) of Tacoma, Washington. Two sister-in-laws Marilee Block of Texas and Delores Wegner of Kearney, Nebraska. Brother-in-laws Lester Lotz of Bancroft and Cliff Schilling of Wisner. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Betty Jane Lotz, Norma Jean Hermelbracht, Judy Kay Schilling, one brother William Wayne Block, two brother-in-laws Lauren Hermelbracht and Lauren Wegner.
