Dorothy I. Beaudette, 87, of Walthill, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the Carl T. Curtis Health Center in Macy, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, with the Rev. Brion Tolzman officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill.
Dorothy Irene Beaudette was born at home on February 5, 1924 in Battle Creek, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Cecelia (Clemensen) Lorenzen. She was baptized on August 11, 1929. And confirmed on March 30, 1958. She married Rolland Troy Beaudette on January 17, 1941 at the Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. To this union two daughter were born: Sharon and Connie. She helped farm for 17 years, and then traveled with her husband, a salesman, for 20 years while doing his bookkeeping. She loved to dance, play cards, and be with friends, and spend as much time as she could with family.
Dorothy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and would do anything for you.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sharon Kramer and her husband Sonny of Walthill, NE, a grandson who lived with her, Rolland (R.J.) Schreck, grandsons Troy Kramer and his wife Tara, of Rosalie, NE, and Mike Kramer of Lyons, NE, Great grandchildren: Jesika, Kayci, Luke, Lauren, Logan, Lane, and Jalyn Kramer, great granddaughter Shauna Kramer and her son (Dorothy's special great-great grandson) Kory, Sisters Vivian Tolson of Ida Grove, IA, Fern Ballard of Cherokee, IA, Marge Rupt and her husband Delbert of Long Beach, CA, Sister-in-law Gladys Tipton of Pender, NE, and brother-in-law Jack Baumert of Elk Horn, NE, and great grandsons: Matt and Elijah Akkerman.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Cecelia Lorenzen, her in-laws, Troy and Elizabeth Beaudette, a daughter, Connie Burger, brothers: Matt, Burdette, and Bill, sister: Betty Florke, sister-in-law Phyllis Baumert, brother-in-law Brown Tipton, and a granddaughter, Faith (Burger) Akkerman.
