Donna G. Frye-Wohlert, 82, of Emerson, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Heritage of Emerson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Emerson with Pastor Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, Nebraska.
Donna was born in Emerson, Nebraska on December 18, 1928, the daughter of William and Opal (Weldon) Trevett. She married Orville "Bud" Frye on June 25, 1945 in West Point, Nebraska. To this union two Children were born, Ted and Deb. Early in their marriage the couple moved to Ashland, NE, returning to Emerson in 1964. She worked for IBP in Dakota City for ten years. On February 28, 1971, Bud passed away. She later married Robert "Swede" Wohlert. They enjoyed traveling and going south for the winters. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, reading, knitting, cooking and baking, making afghans for all the grandkids. She was best known for her chicken and noodles, and how much she loved her grandchildren.
Donna is survived by a son, Ted Frye and his wife Sherry of Yutan, Nebraska, and daughter Deborah Mackling and her husband Lloyd of Emerson, Nebraska, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Forest Trevett of Wakefield, Ne, sisters-in-law Betty Kaupa of Lincoln, NE, Margaret Velda of Venice, NE, and a daughter-in-law Sandy Henery of Dakota Dunes, SD.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband "Bud", brother Robert Trevett and a sister, Lois Danbeck.
