Ruthaline (Neel) Zobel, 67, of Bancroft, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Edgewood Vista Care Center in Fremont, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, Nebraska. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Ruthaline was born on April 19, 1944 in Bancroft, Nebraska to Wendell and Opal (Rawlings) Neel. She was baptized at the Presbyterian Church of Bancroft, and was confirmed on April 2, 1958. She graduated from Bancroft High School in 1962, and attended College at Nettles Business School in Sioux City. On August 18, 1963 she married Robert Zobel at the Presbyterian church in Bancroft. The couple lived southwest of Bancroft on their farm while raising their four children. In 2006 Ruthaline moved to Edgewood Vista in Fremont, NE. Her passions were spending time with her family and friends, camping, quilting, sewing and square dancing. She was a member of the West Point Square Dance Club. She also spent many years working at Meierdierks hardware, the Farmers Elevator.
Ruthaline is survived by her husband, Robert of Bancroft, daughter Lori Richardson and her husband Jeff and their sons Michael and Grant of Belton, MO, daughter Linda Bohling and her husband Lee, and their daughters Jessica and Kali of Hooper, NE, Son Larry Zobel and his wife Tami, and their children Morgan, Mitchell and Madison of Bancroft, sisters: Carolyn Hansen and her husband Dale of Dakota Dunes, SD; Loretta Pallas of Lincoln, NE; Alice Mohl and her husband Roger of Bancroft; and Nancy Dalcourt and her husband Bill of Sioux City, IA, brother-in-law Glen Zobel and his wife Margaret of Clearwater, FL, sister-in-law Sherri Poggi and her husband George of Tenafly, NJ, brother-in-law Gene Zobel and his wife Doris of West Point, NE, as well as many nieces nephews, aunts and uncles.
Ruthaline was preceded in death by her daughter Leigh Zobel, parents, Wendell and Opal Neel, her parents-in-law Martin and Ella Zobel, brother-in-law Jerry Pallas, and sister-in-law Sue Zobel.
