Evelyn C. Lortz

Evelyn C Lortz, 89, of Pender, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, Nebraska, with the Rev. John Olson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, Ne. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pender, NE. Evelyn was born on April 16, 1922 in Herndon, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Schumacher) Barenberg. She attended and graduated from Catholic High School. She married Harold Lortz on June 18, 1941. She was a cook for several years before retiring and moving to Pender, Nebraska. Evelyn is survived by her son, John (Vivian) Lortz of Porter, TX, son, Jess (Vida) Lortz of Pender, NE, and daughter, Michele Lortz of Pender, NE. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, one brother and five sisters. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents, daughter Judy and son Bruce.
