Dorothy Anfinson, 92, of Emerson, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Heritage of Emerson Care Center. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Emerson with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Dorothy was born on January 6, 1920 on a farm near Emerson, Nebraska, the daughter of Chris and Clara (Hoeck) Lamp. She lived her most of her life on the same farm. She married Vernon Anfinson on August 20, 1941. She worked alongside Vernon on the farm. In later years she worked as Church Secretary for St. Luke's Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She belonged to W.E.L.C.A., the Altar Guild, Lydia Group and Dorcas Sewing Group. She was active in 4-H both as child and as a leader. She was also active on school committees and the PTA. She moved into Emerson in 1998 after Vernon's passing. Dorothy is survived by daughter Willa Saltzman and her husband Duane of Emerson, son Rex Anfinson and his wife Diane of Remsen, IA, son-in-law Gary Mack of Chicago, Il, sister Marilyn Temple and her husband Pete of Ponca, Nebraska, a sister-in-law Clara Lamp of Emerson, fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon, and one daughter, Rena Mack of Chicago, IL. and two brothers Wilbur and Elmer Lamp.
