Marlowe Ray Tipton Jr., 73, of Walthill, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his home in Walthill. Funeral Services will be held Sunday March 4, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Walthill, Nebraska Pastor Steve Brazier will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church in Walthill, Nebraska. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Nebraska. Munderloh ~ Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Marlowe was born on October 21, 1938 in a country home outside of Rosalie, Nebraska, to Marlowe Sr. and Gladys (Beaudette) Tipton. He graduated from Walthill High School in 1955. Upon graduation, he attended Wayne State College for three years. After college, he worked as a salesman for many different companies including Fuller Brush, Amway and NaChurs Fertilizer. He also farmed before becoming a restaurant owner. Marlowe married Lenora Dittberner in March, 1961. To this union, two daughters were born, Robin and Michelle. Marlowe enjoyed camping, horseback riding, playing the guitar, listening to country music, and nightly bonfires. He also enjoyed woodworking and creating various animals and other things out of wood for his family and friends. Marlowe is survived his mother Gladys Tipton of Pender, NE, two daughters, Robin and husband Eric Galvin of Pleasant Hill, IA and Michelle and husband Marlon Hennig of Rosalie, NE; a brother, Troy and his wife Marie Tipton of Walthill, NE; five grandchildren, Colton and Skyler Knutzen, Antonia, Jacob and Wyatt Hennig; two step-grandchildren, Riley and Lane Galvin and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlowe was preceded in death by two wives; Myrna Morgan, whom he married in July 1978, and Rosemary Cornell, whom he married in March 1988 and long time companion Dora Hamm. He was also preceded in death by his father and a nephew Shayne Tipton.
