Eugene A. Meier

Eugene A. Meier, 90, of Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wakefield with the Rev. Willy Bertrand officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Bressler~Munderloh~Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Interment will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Eugene was born on January 1, 1922, in Wakefield, Nebraska, the son of Alfred and Burnetta (Isom) Meier. He Married Helen Schleusener on October 1, 1950 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender, Nebraska. Helen passed away on April 7, 2006. He farmed all of his adult life in the Wakefield area. Eugene is survived by a niece, Lisa Hoy and nephew Jim Chapman. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen, and a sister, Nadean Chapman.
