LeRoy G. Breitbarth

LeRoy G. Breitbarth, 90, of Pender, Nebraska died on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church South of Pender, Nebraska, Rev. Richard Pingel will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. The son of Edward and Hulda (Longe) Breitbarth, LeRoy was born on July 12, 1917 in Cuming County. He was baptized on August 12, 1917 by Pastor Eckhardt at St. John’s and confirmed on June 29, 1930 by Rev. Robert E. Kruse. He attended grade school in rural Cuming County. He married Marie R. Day on February 3,1947. He spent his life farming near Pender. LeRoy was actively involved as a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Pender. Over the years LeRoy enjoyed time with his family and friends and his love of farming and gardening. Survivors include his wife Marie and son, Gary Breitbarth of Onawa, Iowa. He is also survived by three brothers and a sister. Ralph and Arlie Breitbarth of Fremont, Harry and Elaine Breitbarth, Edna Bettenhausen and Art and Oma Breitbarth of West Point. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Myron and Emery.
