Mary Lou (Snyder) Neill, 75, of Walthill, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2011 surrounded by her family at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Winnebago, Nebraska, with Father David Korth officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Nebraska. Mary Lou was born on January 16, 1937, in Walthill, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Lois (Ross) Snyder. She graduated from Winnebago Public School in 1955. Mary Lou married Arlin Neill on February 6, 1956 in Winnebago, Nebraska, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. To this union one child was born. Arlin and Mary Lou resided in Walthill Nebraska for over 50 years. Arlin passed away on March 22, 2006. In 2010 Mary Lou moved to Rosalie. Mary Lou worked as a "soda jerk" at the drug store in Winnebago, a nurses' aide at St. Joe Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, and was a bartender at the Brown Derby in Walthill. Mary Lou loved to sing, dance and spend time with family and friends. Mary Lou is survived by her Daughter Jan (Neill) Hawk and her husband Monty of Rosalie, Nebraska, and one brother John Snyder and his wife Robin of Rosalie, NE, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by a brothers-in-law Robert (Mary Lou) Neill, Tom (Barb) Neill, and sister-in-law Imy Neill. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arlin, three brothers; Wendal "Butch", Joseph and Lawrence "Punch" Snyder, sister-in-law Irene (John) Fuller, brothers-in-law Don (Elva) Neill and Clarence Neill.
