David R. Park, 68, of Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Nebraska.
Funeral Services for David will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield; Pastor Darwin Garton and Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler - Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.
David was born on June 23, 1943 in Wakefield, Ne to Russell and Merle (Mapes) Park. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield. He attended Rose Hill District 51 through the 8th grade, and graduated from Wakefield High School.
David followed his uncle, Jack Park’s passion of being a car salesman for many years beginning with Knerl Ford, Coryel Auto, Arnies and Schaffer Pontiac. He also worked at Michael Foods for a short time, till his health forced him to quit. Dave could be seen at many antique auctions, and coming home with some great finds. Anyone that stepped into his apartment could see his treasures. He also had a knack for decorating. He would purchase mobile homes and refurbish them, then turn around and resell them.
David is survived by his sisters Janice Lueth of Emerson, Ne, her children Tim (Geraldine) Lueth, Linda Pasewalk and friend Mark Graff, all of Emerson, Ne, Karen (Mark) Victor of Wakefield, Ne, Denise (Mark) Mueller and Mark Lueth of Emerson, Ne. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Merle Park, a brother-in-law Alvin Lueth and a great niece Tabitha Mueller.
