Donna M. Rouse

Donna M. Rouse, 78, of Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Wakefield Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, Nebraska, with Father Gerald Leise officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, NE, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Donna was born March 20th, 1934, in Oakdale, Nebraska, to Cecelia (Tunik) Theim and Vincent Theim.  Donna graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Petersburg, Nebraska, in 1952.  After a year of working on the farm, she met the love of her life, Don Rouse. Don and Donna were united in marriage on May 4th, 1953, at St John’s Catholic Church in Petersburg, Nebraska. To this union five children were born. In the early years of her marriage Donna was a stay at home mom, while her husband Don worked for the Milwaukee Railroad.   In 1959 the family moved to Wakefield, Nebraska, where Don was employed by the Milton G. Waldbaum Company.  Donna was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary and a Cub Scout troop leader.   Donna enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, crafts of all kinds, bowling, golfing, dancing, Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Minnesota Twins. Those who knew Donna always enjoyed looking at her doll collection and the outfits she made for her dolls.  You could always find Donna on a sunny afternoon playing baseball with her kids and those in the neighborhood.   Donna was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. One of Donna’s best joys was to follow her five children‘s endeavors.   Donna touched many lives with her kindness, loyalty, patience, and laughter.  Left to cherish her memories are her four children: Don Jr. of Hansen Idaho, Dave of Wakefield, NE, Cindy of Lincoln, NE and Angie and husband Ernie Silva of Kimberly Idaho, fourteen grand children and five great grand children.   Donna was preceded in death by her husband Don, son Tim, brothers, Ted and Butch and a sister Kate and her father Vicent.  Donna will be missed not only by family, but also by all those lives she touched.
