Elaine M. Beckmann, 90, of Bancroft, Nebraska, went to her heavenly home with her children by her side on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at her home in Bancroft. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bancroft, with the Rev. Brion Tolzman officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh~Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft. Elaine will be laid to rest next to her husband Clarence in the Bancroft Cemetery on the same day that was also his birthday.
Elaine was born on August 27, 1921 in rural Bancroft to August and Rosa Abendroth. She attended country school near her family farm. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Walter E. Homann
Elaine was the oldest of four siblings, and cherished the many memories of her past. As a young girl, she crocheted beautiful personal items for herself and others. She also taught Sunday School for years at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Elaine was united in marriage to Clarence Beckmann on November 25, 1956. They spent their life farming together near Rosalie, Nebraska. Elaine and Clarence were blessed with three children, Charles, Naomi and Floyd.
She belonged to the Rosalie Friendship club for over fifty years. Besides teaching Sunday School, she helped with Vacation Bible School, and belonged to St. Paul's Altar Guild and Ladies Aide. She enjoyed vacations to Alaska, Salt Lake City, The Black Hills, San Diego, Florida and Tennessee. After Clarence's death in 1993, Elaine moved to Bancroft where she enjoyed her friends and neighbors. She was active with the Bancroft Senior Citizens Center where she pursued her passion of quilting.
Left to cherish her memories are: Charles Beckmann, his wife Jeanne and their children Dillon, Desi, and Danielle of Yankton, SD, Naomi Ahlers, her husband Gary, and their children Alison and Bryce of Lincoln, NE, and Floyd Beckmann, his wife Pam and their children Evan and Jonah also of Lincoln, NE.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, brother, Eldon Abendroth and sisters Lidabel Russman and Lois Svoboda, and their spouses.
