Delores D. Abendroth, 87, of Bancroft, Nebraska, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska with the Rev. Brion Tolzman officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.
Delores was born on June 6, 1920 in Bancroft, the daughter of Emil and Elsie (Stuckenschmidt) Brehmer. She was baptized on June 27, 1920 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender, Ne. She was confirmed on June 18, 1933 at St. John’s Lutheran by the Rev. Robert Kruse. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 6:33 “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” She was active in the Altar Guild, and also belonged to two separate card clubs. She also loved her flower gardens and birds.
She attended school at District 62 rural school. She married Eldon Abendroth on April 30, 1944. The couple lived on their farm northwest of Bancroft until moving into Bancroft in 1982.
Delores is survived by her husband Eldon, son Larry Abendroth and his wife Diane of Lincoln, Ne, a Grandson Brett Abendroth of Lincoln, and a sister Georgene Fuller and her husband Francis of Pender, Ne.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Kayleen, a sister Violet and brothers LeRoy Brehmer and Marlin Brehmer.
