Frieda Hermelbracht

Frieda Hermelbracht, 85, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE at 10:30 A.M., with Pastor Philip Hale officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2012 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M., with the family greeting friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. all at Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Frieda was born on September 4, 1926, in Bancroft, Nebraska, the daughter of Theodore and Dorothy (Harms) Eggert. She married Donald Hermelbracht on September 2, 1945 at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Bancroft. The coupled farmed north of Fremont until moving back to Bancroft in 1949. Donald passed away on October 10, 2000. Frieda was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft where she sang in the choir and served with the Altar Guild. She was also active in the Bancroft Senior Center. Frieda is survived by sons: David Hermelbracht of Gainesville, FL, and Charles Hermelbracht and his wife Julia of Bartow, FL, daughters: Connie White and her husband Gary of Fairport, NY, and Nancy Bott and her husband Steve of Renner, SD. She is also survived by sister Ruth Schaub, and a brother, the Rev. Ed Eggert and his wife Ruth as well as eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, and special friends Jim Tillman and Evie James. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a son, Larry, and sisters: Lois, Hildie and Lydia.
