Gladys Rose Beaudette Tipton was born in her Grandma Beaudette’s home near Rosalie, NE on May 30, 1919, to Troy and Birdie Beaudette. Gladys attended Rosalie Public School. She rode her horse to school and back many times even in the rain and snow, except for the one time her horse went home without her and she had to walk. On December 31, 1936, she was united in marriage to Brown Tipton. To this union two sons were born, Marlowe Ray Jr. and Terry Troy. Brown and Gladys spent the first year living with her parents, Troy and Birdie Beaudette, and working on their farm near Rosalie. The following year they moved to a farm of their own north of Rosalie. After farming a few years, they bought a bar in Walthill and named it, “The Brown Derby”. They ran this bar for over 20 years. They also raised Holstein calves and quarter horses during this time. She also worked as a postal clerk in Walthill for 22 years. They were avid Big Red Fans and attended many out-of-state and in state games until poor health prevented them from doing so. They also enjoyed spending time with their family, camping and especially sitting on the river banks. She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her for her kindness, sense of humor and good will. She touched the lives of many and rained more boys than just her two. She always had a smile and a laugh with a twinkle in her eye. All were so blessed to have had her in their lives. Gladys is survived by a son Terry (Troy) and wife Marie Tipton of Walthill, four grandchildren and their spouses: Robin and Eric Galvin of Pleasant Hill, IA, Michelle and Marlin Hennig of Rosalie, NE, Tara and Mark English of Walthill, Ne and Gabe and Tami Tipton of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Brown, a son Marlowe Jr., a grandson Shayne Troy Tipton, a brother Rolland and sister-in-law Dorothy.
