Eunice Maxine Garner, 84, of Oakland, Nebraska, formerly of Pender, Nebraska died at Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland on September 14, 2012. Memorial services for Eunice will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Miles Ruck and Pastor Mark Eldal will be officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery near Pender. Arrangements are being conducted by Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Pender. Eunice was born on December 8, 1927, the daughter of Herman and Meta (VonBloh) Brandt, in Thurston, Nebraska. Eunice was the youngest of ten children. She was baptized at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Pender High School in 1945, and was married to Bert C. Garner on July 15, 1945. To this union three daughters were born: Cynthia Ann, Linda Lee and Katherine Lynn. She lived several years in Oregon before settling in Southern California. She was a homemaker and helped manage many mobile home parks in Hemet and Idyllwild, CA, before moving back to Nebraska in 1980. She enjoyed her family and friends, the outdoors, and had an avid love of all birds. Eunice is survived by her children: Cynthia and husband Gaylen Johnson of Oakland, Ne, Linda Roosa of Pender, Ne, Katherine and husband Mike Sonnenfelt of Oakland, Ne. She is also survived by grandchildren Debra Kinzie, Lisa Salazar, Kelly Dortch, Leah and Jane Rabe, nine great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in by her parents, her husband Bert, a granddaughter Brenda Sue Hagedorn, great grandsons Clinton and Jacob Dortch and her brothers and sisters.
