Click here to view the video tribute.   Robert “Bob” Jasa, 83, of Thurston, Nebraska died on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk, NE. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pender, Nebraska, with Fr. Michael Malloy officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Bob was born on October 25, 1924 in Thurston, Nebraska, the son of James and Mildred (Milfaith) Jasa. He attended school in rural Thurston. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944 during World War II. He married Frances A. Prokop on October 1, 1949. He farmed most of his life, working for George Olson, and also working at Walbaums for many years. He enjoyed his years on the farm. Bob is survived by his wife Frances, his ten children: Robert Jasa and his wife Robin of Laurel, NE; Steven Jasa and his wife Tereesa of Marlboro, MA; Dennis Jasa of Omaha, Ne; Jeff Jasa and his finance Cindy Dunn of Thurston, Ne; Kevin Jasa of Estherville, Ia; Karen Pearson and her husband Don of Pender, Ne; Cheryl Hatley and her companion Tim Sila of Pender; Kerry Jasa and his wife Janise of Omaha, NE; Gina Slama and her husband Jason of Thurston, Ne; and Kristine Jasa of Omaha, NE, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Milton Jasa of Pender, and Richard Jasa of Las Vegas, NV. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Justin Slama, four brothers and three sisters.
