Florine Berg

Florine Berg, 87, of Walthill, Nebraska died on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the Pender Care Centre in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Walthill, with the Rev. Neal Allen officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the Church. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. Florine was born on November 1, 1920 in Walthill, Nebraska, the daughter of Roy and Minnie (Sloan) Steele. She attended school in Walthill and graduated with the class of 1937. Out of High school she worked at the law office of Al Raun and the insurance office of J.J. Elken. Later she worked for Ron Samuelson the County Attorney, and for the law firm of Samuelson, Mills and Maul until 1982. She also kept books at the Mobile Station in Walthill for Ray Stuart, Leon Weddingfeld and Dick Smith. On December 23, 1939 she married Conrad Berg. They farmed around Walthill, moving into town in 1979. Florine is survived by two sons: Terry Berg and his wife Jane; and Stan Berg both of Walthill, two granddaughters, Skyler and Jessie Berg of Windsor, Colorado, step-grandchildren Corey Alley of Omaha, Ne, and Jessica Feltman of Sioux City, Iowa, and step great grandson William Wyatt of Omaha, Ne. Florine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.
