Click here to view the video tribute.   Christy C. Sorensen, 99, of Emerson, Nebraska died on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in Emerson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, with the Rev. Margaret Olson officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Christy was born on May 12, 1908 in Hjorring, Denmark, the daughter of Emanuel and Anna (Christiansen) Andersen. She came to the United States with her family to live in Iowa. After two years her family moved to Emerson. She attended school in Emerson. After graduation she attended Wayne State College for a short time. She was married to Lloyd Heitzman and later Walter Sorensen both of which preceded her in death. Christy is survived by children; Edward Sorensen and his wife Margaret of Kasota, Minnesota; William "Bud" Heitzman of Schuyler, Nebraska; and Lula Crewse of Addison, Illinois, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Bob Andersen of Colorado, and a sister Betty Nelson of Rosalie, Ne. Christy was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and a daughter, Lois Iverson.
