Mila Jean Tullberg, 80, of Elk Point, South Dakota, formerly of Wakefield, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield, with the Rev. Darwin Garton officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler-Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The family will be present at the visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., and there will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.
Mila Jean was born on August 24, 1932, in Thurston, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Martha (Claussen Schuldt) Mahler. She married Donald Tullberg on September 13, 1962 in Pipestone, Minnesota. She had worked for the M. G. Waldbaum Company in Wakefield, later working with her husband Don at The Lounge and Tullberg Trucking in Wakefield. After his death on January 7, 1973, she returned to work for Waldbaum's. Mila enjoyed sewing, reading, puzzles, music, singing, animals and western movies. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church Quilters.
Mila is survived by her children: Jeanni (Dave) Heinemann of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Ted (Lisa) Tullberg of Elk Point, South Dakota, sister-in-law Lorraine (Tippy) Mahler of Thurston, Nebraska, grandchildren: Brooke Heinemann, Paige Heinemann, Brendan Kelly and Bryce Kelly, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, brothers: Rollin Schuldt, Alvin Schuldt, Donald Mahler, Delmar Mahler, Robert Mahler and sisters: Verna Bird and Lois Fillipi.
