William D. Cadwallader

William “Bill” D. Cadwallader, 79, of Pender, Nebraska died on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held n Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pender, with Fr. Michael Malloy officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Hubbard, Nebraska. Bill was born on September 15, 1928 in Ponca, Nebraska to William and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Cadwallader. He was baptized and confirmed in Ponca, Nebraska. He attended school in Hubbard, Nebraska. He served in the U. S. Army from December 1950 until November of 1953. He married Margie Schmucker in 1953. He worked on various feed lots for years and was later employed for 20 years at Blue Ox in Pender, Nebraska. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, casino’s, collecting coins, hunting and fishing. Bill is survived by his wife, Margie of Pender, Children Barb Gilster and her husband Alan of Emerson, Ne; Sharen Cadwallader of Omaha, Ne; Dan Cadwallader of Ridgeway, Co; Cathy Von Seggern and her huband Curt of Pender, Ne; Julie Christiensen and her husband Kevin of Pender, Ne; Debbie Samuels and her husband Chris of Bancroft, Ne; Karen Roeber and her husband Les of Emerson, Nebraska, and Tracy Keating and her husband Bob of Wayne, Ne. He is also survived by a sister, Catherine Nelson and her husband Dale of Pender, Ne, and 16 grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, four children: Matt; Judy; Jim; and Joe, brothers Pat, Cliff, Bud, Charlie, and a sister Frances Kuhl.
