Click here to view the video tribute.   Jeff D. Mackling, 57, of Wayne, Nebraska died on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral (beginning at 9:00 a.m.) at the church. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Jeff was born March 7, 1950 in Emerson, Nebraska to Donald and Janet (Langmack) Mackling. He graduated from Emerson High School. After graduation he worked as a heavy equipment driver for Dixon County then moved to Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa and California where he continued to work with heavy equipment. Jeff enjoyed hunting and going to gun shows. He and his dog Midget were inseparable. Jeff is survived by his father, Don Mackling of Emerson, Ne, brother Vaughn Mackling and his wife Rita of Omaha, Ne, as well as several Nieces and Nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother Janet, and brothers Gregg and Brian Mackling.
