Glen E. Duncan

Glen E. Duncan, 79, of Thurston, Nebraska, passed on Monday, January 7, 2013 at his childhood home in Thurston, NE. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, at 10:30 A.M. at John Huss Presbyterian Church in Thurston with the Rev. Charity Potter officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., and with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, Nebraska. Glen was born on May 22, 1933 in Thurston, Nebraska, the son of Huey and Doris (Milton) Duncan. He graduated from Thurston High School in 1950, joining the U.S. army and serving from 1953 to 1955. He married Doris J. Belt on October 8, 1955 in Pender, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union. He Farmed in Thurston until 1985. He also worked for the Emerson Coop for several years. Glen was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening playing cards and attending sporting events. Glen is survived by his wife, Doris, two children: Tom Duncan and his wife Cathy of Emerson, NE, and Ron Duncan of Pender, NE, a brother, Marvin Duncan of Hubbard, NE, a sister, Joyce Blair of Homer, NE, grandchildren: Mick Duncan and his wife Rebecca of Emerson, NE, Aliscia Anderson and her husband Aaron of Fremont, NE, Andy Duncan and his wife Amber of Fort Riley, KS, and Tommy Duncan of Pender, NE. he is also survived by eight great grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Rachel Belt of Emerson, NE, Esther Watkins of Hubbard, NE and Ruby Duncan of Thurston, and several nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Dorothy Casey, Georgia Duncan, an infant sister, and a brother, LeRoy Duncan.
