Click here to view the memorial video. Alfred “Fred” W. Cornwell Sr., 96, of Walthill, Nebraska went to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Pender, Nebraska; Pastor John Bellar will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery of Walthill. Fred was born on October 25, 1911 in Walthill, the son of Ulysses S. and Susan (Thompson) Cornwell. He attended school in the Walthill area until going to work. Over the years Fred worked at numerous jobs including: Campbell Manufacturing, the Gambles Hardware Store and the local service station. He was married to Daisy Cornwell on October 1, 1935. The couple made their home in Walthill until the time of her death on November 4, 2005. Fred and Daisy were active in the Assembly of God Church. Fred enjoyed gardening, working on his vehicles and carpentry work. Fred is survived by his two daughters: Kay Miles and her husband Jim of Lincoln, Nebraska and Barbara Masten and her husband Henry of Maryville, Missouri, and a son Fred Cornwell Jr. of Walthill. Fred is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 years Daisy, and 11 brothers and sisters.
