Jack Malasek

Jack Matthew Malasek, 4 years old, of Emerson, Nebraska passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday at the Church from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Emerson. Jack was born on October 4, 2008 in West Point, Nebraska, the son of Jeff and Penny (Gilster) Malasek. "Jacko" was always known for his smile and spunk. He was very outgoing, talkative and loved his family. Jack enjoyed wearing his John Deere cowboy boots, riding in a semi with his daddy and pointing out cattle trucks as they went by. "Jacko" also enjoyed riding his 4-Wheeler going with his family to mud races, fishing, camping and Jeeping. Jack is survived by his parents, Jeff and Penny Malasek of Emerson, sister Kaylee Malasek, brothers: Taylor, Jace and Cody, paternal grandparents Lonnie and Connie Malasek of Thurston, NE, maternal grandparents Alan and Barb Gilster of Emerson, NE, he is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Craig and Michelle Malasek of Central City, NE, Kelley and Tiffany Stallbaum of Emerson, NE, Brent and Mindy Gilster of Dakota City, NE; great grandmothers: Donna Gilster of Emerson and Margie Cadwallader of Pender, NE. Jack was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfathers: Ardell Gilster and Bill Cadwallader, great uncle Matt Cadwallader, Paternal grandparents Jerry and Mary Malasek, and Ivan and Ruth Huennekens, and a great great aunt, Eleanor Schmuecker. Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of arrangements.
