Patrick A. French, 61, of Decatur, Nebraska died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home in Decatur while surrounded by his family. The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ Decatur Restoration Branch in Decatur, Nebraska. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the church; Pastor Dale Wolfe will be officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Patrick was born on September 15, 1951, in Oakland, Nebraska, the son of Alvin and Dorothy (Patrick) French. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends, especially by the river. Patrick enjoyed the outdoors spending time fishing, hunting, camping and mushroom hunting. His true passion was his gardening and working on small engines. During his life he farmed, worked as a welder and was involved in construction. Patrick is survived by his children: son Patrick French, Jr. of Decatur, NE and his children: Shyanne, Cierra and Destanie; daughter Tina Jump and husband Doug of Wellington, MO and children: Kayla and Devin and great grandchildren Aeva Uehling and Evan Redding; daughter Leanna Benson of Elkhorn, NE and children Jeff, Josh and Brandi; Nicole Stevens and husband Alex of Decatur, NE and children: Sereniti, Austin, Ariana and Brody; Son Darrel and wife Nikki French of Bellevue, NE and children Kayden, Desiree and Hailee; son Dillon French and girlfriend KK Abbott of Omaha, NE and children Chevie and Levi. He is also survived by a sister Nola Briggs and husband Charles of Walthill, NE and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Dorothy and a brother Duane Morrow.
