Mervin Verne Tyrrell

Mervin V. Tyrrell, 78, of Pender, Nebraska died at his home on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Funeral services for Mervin will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender; Pastor Margaret Olson of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender will be officiating. Memorials are suggested to the National Parkinson Foundation. Mervin was born on June 6, 1929, in Pender, Nebraska, the son of Vern and Clara (Brandt) Tyrrell. Mervin was married to Roberta Adams on June 1, 1950. He joined the United States Navy in March of 1951. Mervin was discharged in March of 1955. The couple made their home in several places. He worked for many years in Titusville, Florida, where Mervin worked for RCA at the Cape Canaveral Space Center. In 1970 they moved to Pender, Nebraska. They later moved to Pleasantville, Iowa, where they made their home for thirty years. In 1999, they moved back to Pender. Mervin is survived by his wife, Roberta, two sons: Verne and wife Jennifer, of Pender, Nebraska and Leslie and wife Xiaoya Tang of College Place, Washington, sister Phyllis Rihanek of Omaha, Ne, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
