Click here to view the memorial video. Dennis L. Roeber, 66, of rural Pender died on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender, Nebraska with the Rev. Richard Pingel officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Ne. Interment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Dennis was born on November 30, 1941 in West Point, Nebraska to Marvin and Mabel (Kratke) Roeber. He attended St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pender, all of his life. He was baptized on January 25, 1942 by Rev. Kruse, and confirmed on June 6, 1954 by Rev. Henning. He married Delores “Dee” Newell at Lyons, Nebraska on April 1, 1962. He graduated from Pender High School in 1960, and attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He held offices in both the local and State Jaycees, and also served as Treasurer and on the Cemetery Board for St. John’s Lutheran Church. He also served on the Farmers Union Coop, and District 82 School Boards. He was also a leader of the Cleveland Livewires 4-H Club. He loved sports, especially Pender High School and Husker football and basketball. His greatest pride was his family, his farm, and living in rural America. Dennis is survived by his wife, Delores, sons: Robb Roeber and his wife Kim; Rick Roeber; Ryan Roeber and his wife Sherry; and Reed Roeber and his wife Sheli, grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsi, Darrin, Derick, Samantha, Glorious, Isaac, Casidee, and a great granddaughter Madison, all of Pender, Nebraska. He is also survived by a brother Terry Roeber of Fremont, Ne. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mabel Roeber, grandparents Albert and Tillie Kratke and an uncle, Elmer Kratke.
