Click here to view the memorial video. Dennise J. Russman, 76, of Bancroft, Nebraska died on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska with the Rev. Philip Hale officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft, Ne. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Dennise June Matthies was born on June 7, 1931 in Wisner, Nebraska, the daughter of Leonard and Barbara (Verba) Matthies. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church south of Wisner. She graduated from Wisner High School. She married Dale Otto Roth on August 18, 1948. Dale passed away in 1979. She worked part time for the Bancroft Public Schools and also at Larry’s Bar for a few years. She married Leroy Russman on July 11, 1981. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Bancroft and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Dennise is survived by her husband Leroy, four sons: Reggie Roth and his wife Grace of Beemer, Ne; Bob Roth and his wife Jeannie of Wakefield, Ne; Marty Roth and his wife Gina of Pender, Ne; and Ryan Roth and his wife Denise of Pierce, Ne, one daughter Shelly Kesting and her husband Brad of Norfolk, Ne. She is also survived by ten grandchildren nine Great grandchildren, and a sister Donna Koelling and her husband Gordon of Tucson, AZ. Other survivors include stepchildren: Rocky and Judy Sorensen of Lincoln, Ne; Kevin and Joanie Stange of Gretna, Ne; Jim and Tami Russman of Valparaiso, Ne and nine step grandchildren. Dennise was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale, her parents, two brothers, one daughter and one stepdaughter and husband.
