Click here to view the video tribute.   Ruth Felt, 86, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield; Pastor Ross Erickson will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Ruth Viola Felt was born on October 23, 1921 at the hospital in Lynch, Nebraska to Oscar and Elin (Carlson) Anderson. She attended the Rosedale School at Bristow, Nebraska and also the School of Commerce in Omaha, Nebraska. She has been a lifelong member of the Evangelical Covenant Churches. In 1936, she was confirmed at the Pender Evangelical Church. On February 7, 1944 she was married to Marvin Felt of Wakefield, Nebraska at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Oakland, Nebraska. She has been active in the church with the music, playing the piano and the organ for many years; she was also a member of the Covenant Women’s Organization. Ruth was a longtime active member of the Wakefield Health Care Center Auxiliary. In 1978, she was chosen the “Woman of the Year” of the Wayne County Farm Bureau Women’s Organization. After being on the farm for many years, Marvin and Ruth retired to their home in Wakefield in 1980. On February 7, 1994, Marvin and Ruth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Marvin died on December 2, 2000. In 2006, Ruth moved to the Oaks Retirement Center in Wayne, where she was living until the time of her death. Ruth is survived by her three children and their spouses: Sharon and husband Randy Shaw of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Marilyn and husband Ronald Carlson of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Merlin and wife Delores Felt of Wakefield, Nebraska, six grandchildren: Ryan and wife Clare Shaw of Kansas City, KS, Lisa and husband Bill Nelson of St. Louis, Missouri, Karin Carlson and Anna Carlson of Lincoln, Nebraska and Renee Felt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and James Felt and fiancé Chantelle Hoffman of Wakefield, Nebraska. Ruth is also survived by a great granddaughter Madelyn Ruth Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, a son Eldon, a brother Carl Anderson, a sister Mildred Ericson, and a granddaughter Lorie Ann Felt.
