Hildegard K. Thomas

Hildegard Thomas, 88, of Dixon, Nebraska died on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Nebraska. Funeral services for Hildegard will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church near Concord; Pastor Willie Bertrand will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the church, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield. Hildegard was born on June 15, 1925 in Concord, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Christina (Schmidt) Koch. After graduating from Dixon High School, she was united in marriage to Paul I. Thomas on August 2, 1948 at St Paul Lutheran Church, Concord, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Stacy, Paulette and Susan. Hildegard was active with the St. Paul Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, the Concord – Dixon Senior Center, and she enjoyed quilting, gardening and hand embroidery. Hildegard is survived by her son Stacy Thomas - Pearland, TX, daughters Paulette A. (Ken) Wampol - Tabor, SD and Susan M. (Dwain) Stanley - Dixon, NE. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren: David (Julie) Humphrey – Lincoln, NE, Brian(Rita) Humphrey – Vermillion, SD and children Zander and Callum Humphrey; Rebecca (Todd) Barner – Wayne, NE and children Morgan, Eli and Jacob Barner – Wayne and Frantzdie and Wanso Barner – Haiti; Steven (Leanay) Stanley - Laurel, NE and children Dusty and Trista Sullivan; Michael (Katie) Stanley – West Point, NE and daughter Paisley Kate Stanley; Mathew Stanley and Kristina Huber – Canton, MD; Jessica Thomas and Jonny Lazono - Pearland, TX; Brooke Thomas - Hartington, NE; Alyssa Thomas – Pearland, TX, sisters Adele M. Koch - Redwood City, CA and Martha Smith – Laurel, NE and a brother Helmut J. Koch – South Sioux City, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 1996 and five sisters and four brothers.
