Marie was born on October 28, 1950 in Pine Plains, New York, the daughter of Terrence Sr. and Olive (Hedges) Sorbo. While working as a secretary on a ranch in New York, Marie fell for the love of her life, Troy Tipton. On February 7, 1970, Marie and Troy were married. To this union three children were born: Shayne, Tara and Gabriel. The couple returned to Nebraska, where they lived and enjoyed their life on the farm near Walthill, Nebraska. Marie worked in various places in Walthill including the Pump N Pak, the Walthill School and First National Bank. She was once a member of the Walthill, Jaycees, and one of the founding members of the Walthill Rodeo. They enjoyed spending time with their family. Troy and Marie were connected and did everything together. He was always taking her flowers and loved her to the very end, he was her hero.
She had many friends and was loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her awesome laugh, beautiful smile, her Italian spunk and the nurturing love she had for all her friends and family. She also had to have a great sense of humor since she had to deal with Troy’s repetitive jokes on a daily basis. She had a tremendous and ongoing love for her children, but the love of her grandkids was the greatest of all.
She is survived by her husband Troy of Walthill, NE, daughter Tara (Mark) English of Walthill, NE, Gabe (Tami) of Omaha, NE, four grandchildren: Amber, Evan and Adyson English and Hunter Tipton. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Marie is preceded in death by her son Shayne, parents Terrence Sr. and Olive Sorbo, brothers John and Terry Sorbo Jr., father and mother-in-law: Brown and Gladys Tipton and brother-in-law Marlowe Tipton Jr.
