Click here to view the memorial video. Rollin W. Wachter, 90, of Hubbard, Nebraska died on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson, Nebraska, Rev. Randy Rasmussen and Harlan Lieber will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson. Burial will follow lunch at the Lyons Nebraska City Cemetery. Rollin was born on November 16, 1917 to Walter and Hannah Wachter near Arlington, Nebraska. He attended several schools in Washington County, Nebraska. Rollin then moved with his family to a farm near Rosalie, Nebraska. He attended Parks Community School and graduated from Rosalie High School in 1935. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Rosalie. Later he transferred to Trinity Lutheran Church at Hubbard, where he served on the council for nine years. He went to Frye Aircraft Sheet Metal School in Omaha from 1941 to 1942. On June 21, 1943, he was married to Jeanne Crippen in Dakota City, Nebraska. They farmed near Rosalie for two years, and then moved to their present farm near Hubbard. Rollin is survived by his wife Jeanne of Hubbard, daughter Betty Merritt and her husband Rob Solomon of Beaverton, OR, son Joe Wachter and his wife Terri of Hubbard, grandchildren: Austin McConnell and his wife Sarah of Battle Creek, MI; Scott Rice and his wife Andrea of Des Moines, IA; Staci Danielson of Davenport, IA; Sarah Sample and her husband Andrew of Sioux City, IA, and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Richard Wachter and his wife Susan of Bloomfield, NE; and a sister Ione Nelson of Rosalie, NE. Rollin was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter – in – law Terri Sue Wachter, and a great grandson, Bailey Sample.
