Delmar L. Kinning

Click here to view the memorial video. Delmar Lee Kinning, 80, of Decatur, Nebraska died on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie, Nebraska. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Ne, with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Delmar was born on December 29, 1927 in Decatur, Nebraska, the son of Henry Guy and Ida Mae (Potts) Kinning. He graduated from Rosalie High School. On July 17, 1949 he married Jennie (Novak) Kinning. They raised their family and farmed near Rosalie, Nebraska until his retirement. Jennie died on June 11, 1994. Delmar also served the communities of Rosalie, Bancroft, Lyons and Walthill as a law enforcement officer for several years. Delmar married Marilyn Sparks on August 17, 1996, and lived in Decatur, Nebraska throughout his retirement years. Delmar is survived by his wife Marilyn and five children: Mary (Kinning) Serra and her husband Bob of St. Petersburg, FL; Douglas and his wife Brenda of Lubbock, TX; Michael and his wife Mary of Lincoln, NE; David and his wife Lori of Lyons, NE; and Karen (Kinning) Williams and her husband Ron of Pender, NE. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Andrea (Kinning) Ferguson; Brock Kinning; Shannon Serra; Kie Kinning; Matthew Kinning; Jennifer Williams; Kelly Serra; and Taylor Williams, two step grandsons, Wesley and Marshall Bewley and two great grandchildren, Ashton and Alyssa. Delmar was preceded in death by his wife Jennie, his parents, Guy and Ida, brothers Arlis and Ormond, and one sister Irma.
