Elsie A Morgan

Elsie A. Morgan, 102, of Emerson, Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home. Funeral services for Elsie will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Emerson. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the arrangements. Elsie was born October 21, 1911 in Emerson, Nebraska to Rudolf and Emma (Andresen) Bottger. She attended school in Emerson. Elsie married Harry Johnsen and to this union three children were born; Harriet, Lois and Edna Mae. Harry passed away at a young age, later in life Elsie married Pierre Morgan. Elsie loved to go shopping and enjoyed going out for coffee every day. Elsie was very active; she even drove her car until she was 99 years old. Elsie is survived by her daughters, Harriet (Gordon) Hansen of Dixon, NE and Lois Lacore of Hale, MO; granddaughter Tammy (Sam) Williams of Hale, MO; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elsie is preceded in death by her husband’s Harry Johnsen and Pierre Morgan; an infant daughter Edna Mae; grandson Billy Johnsen; 3 brothers: Herman, Emil and Adolph; 4 sisters: Bertha, Alma, Marie and Frieda.
