Click here to view the video tribute.Norman W. Haglund, 84, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Tuesday evening at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, Nebraska. Funeral services for Norman will be held on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield; Pastor Jerome Cloninger will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. devotional. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery.Norman was born on August 1, 1923 on the family farm near Wakefield, Nebraska, the son of Walter and Edna (Anderson) Haglund. He was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church on September 14, 1923 and confirmed on June 27, 1937 also at Salem. Norman graduated Wakefield high School in 1940. Following a six week courtship, Norman married the woman of his dreams. On September 16, 1950 he was married to Miriam Holmberg at a service in Taylor Falls, Minnesota. The couple made their home on the farm, until moving into Wakefield in 1991. Norman enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He will be remembered for his quick wit.Norman is survived by his five children: Rod and wife Lorie Haglund of Wakefield, Les Haglund of Wakefield, Ed and wife Toni Haglund of Wakefield, Glenda and husband Ralph Beierman of Wayne, and Gerald and wife Kim Haglund of Wayne, thirteen grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and infant son Douglas Norman and a sister Margaret Kirkwood.
