Ludmila Sabacky

Ludmila "Lu" Sabacky, 100, of Pender, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at John Huss Presbyterian Church in Thurston, NE; Pastor Charity Potter will be officiating. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2014 and goes until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home of Pender, NE. Ludmila was born December 20, 1913 to Frank Sr. and Mary (Pallas) Sabacky, in Emerson, NE. She attended District 15 Country School in rural Emerson and graduated from Emerson High School in Emerson, NE. She attended Wayne State College in Wayne, NE for two summers. Ludmila was a country school teacher for 8 years. Ludmila then went on to work at Buis Memorial Hospital in Pender, and finally worked at the Pender clinic for 25 years. She was a faithful member of John Huss Presbyterian Church in Thurston, NE. She was the treasurer for 30 years, as well as a Sunday school teacher, elder, member of the choir and a confirmation teacher with her biggest class being in 1938 with 23 members. Ludmila also played the pump organ at church. She loved traveling all over the country, sampling as much chocolate and ice cream as she could. She also cared for her sister and mother in their declining years. Ludmila is survived by her nieces and nephews; Mark and Betty Lou McDonald of Winfield, AL, Kenneth and Cheryl Sabacky of Emporia, KS, Joe and Jeanette Schwarz of Houston, TX, Tom and Ruth Anderson of Bojath, TX, Robert Sabacky of Lincoln, NE, Bruce and Sosie Sabacky of Reno, NV, Richard Sabacky of Coon Rapids, MN, Ronald Sabacky of Blaine, MN, Alvin and Josephine (Jody) Dornath of Humboldt, IA, Richard and Evelyn Zanders of Bismark, IL, Robin and Julie Dolezal of Hutchinson, MN, Dean and Sharon Sabacky of Hutchinson, MN, Randy and Diane Wischmann of Dassel, MN, and M. Jerome and Jane Sabacky of Ballwin, MO, and many friends. Ludmila is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Ted, Milton, Joe, Jerome, Emil, and Frank, and sister; Mary Kovar.
