Click here to view the memorial video.Marjorie Ilene (Nichols) Hassler, 81, of Hubbard, Nebraska entered into eternal peace on Friday September 19, 2008 to be with her lord. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, Nebraska with Fr. Paul Albenesius officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Emerson. Marjorie was born on February 20, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas to Homer and Fern (Hamm) Nichols. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1945. She married Dennis James Hassler on October 8, 1947 in Winfield, Ks. Dennis died in 1994. They had been married 47 years. She had been active in the Hillside Extension Club, the Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, St. Mary’s Altar Society, bowling, Crocheting, and most of all with her children and family. She was so proud of them all. She had been raised on a ranch and liked to ride horses and loved to sing. Marjorie is survived by 12 of her fourteen children: Pat Hassler and his wife Christine of Jackson, Ne; Rita Christian and her husband Bob of Sioux City, Ia; Mick Hassler and his wife Connie of Emerson, Ne; Cynthia Rohde of Emerson; Rod Hassler and Christy Casper of Marshalltown, Ia; Dennis Hassler Jr. and his wife Donna of Hubbard, Ne; Judi Vraspir and her husband Gene of Emerson, Ne; Ted Hassler and his wife Nancy of Big Lake, Mn; Angie Gabel and her husband Jim of South Sioux City, Ne; Ginger Nixon and her husband Rod of Wakefield, Ne; Christina Habrock and her husband Marty of Lincoln, Ne; Carla Clay and her husband Mike of Wakefield, Ne. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis, daughters Teresa and Seina, her parents Homer and Fern Nichols, brothers Walter, Rich, Marion and a sister Helen Jean Higbee, and a son-in-law John Rohde.
