Click here to view the memorial video.Darold T. Suhr, 91 of Pender, Nebraska died on Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson with the Rev. Steven Tjarks officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Darold Theodore Suhr was born on April 6, 1917 at rural Pender (Wayne County), Nebraska, to Herman and Minnie (Krusemark) Suhr. He was baptized in infancy at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Pender. He was confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. He attended schools in the Emerson area. He farmed for his mother for several years as his father died at an early age. He was united in marriage to Ruth Surber on February 16, 1941 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Three sons were born to this union. They made their home on farms in the Emerson area. They moved to a farm near Pender in 1967 and moved into Pender in 1988. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Darold is survived by his wife Ruth, sons: Delwin Suhr and his wife Leslie of Pender, Ne: Gene Suhr of Bennington, Ne, and Kenneth Suhr and his wife Denise of Elkhorn, Ne. He is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Darold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
