Elaine was born January 21, 1930 in rural Bancroft, NE to Ferdinand and Emilie (Tietz) Leimer. She attended Zion School in Bancroft. On November 24, 1947, Elaine married Ervin Schultz. She was an active member at St. Paul's Lutheran Church including being a Sunday school teacher and sung in the church choir. Elaine was a lifelong Republican who debated many conservative issues. She was a very helpful person who loved and cared for everyone but never wanted anything in return. Elaine tried to keep busy during the day, most of the time making her family-famous cream puffs or homemade ice cream. Elaine loved flowers and lighting off fire crackers on the Fourth of July. Even though Elaine was stubborn and self-sufficient, she was the favorite aunt. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandkids.
She is survived by her son, Rodney (Sharon) Schultz of Bancroft, NE; daughter; Shirley (Deven) McCarron of Johns Creek, GA; sisters, Cora (Mynhardt) Soenksen of Pender, NE, Luella Canarsky of Harrison, AR, and Myrna (Alan) Rush of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Tracy Schultz, Corey Schultz, Rebecca Schultz, Sean McCarron, and Kelsey McCarron; great grandchildren, Caleb Johnson, Hannah Blair, and Abigail Zweep, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Schultz; parents; brothers, Reinhardt Leimer, Ruben Leimer, and Orville Leimer; sisters, Olivia Haase, Irene Kester, Loretta Wickert, Delores Greve, and Elvira Tidwell.
